Before Kansas City became what it is today, downtown used to go quiet after dark. Streets empty. Parking garages echoing. Just concrete, streetlights, and whoever was brave enough to claim the pavement.
That’s where we skated.
KC Crossbones is a tribute to those nights — the early Kansas City skate scene when the city felt like an abandoned playground and every curb, rail, and stair set became part of the map.
The crossed bones symbolize the fearless attitude of street skating: fall, get back up, and try it again. No crowds, no cameras, no hype. Just raw skating and the freedom of the streets.
This piece represents the grit, independence, and underground culture that shaped generations of skaters in Kansas City.
