Rural Grit is the kind of open mic where local musicians show up, plug in, jump on stage and see what happens. Sometimes it’s rough, sometimes it’s strange, and sometimes somebody you’ve never heard of absolutely blows the room apart.
That’s what I love about it.
Kansas City is full of musicians with real talent who may never be household names, but they keep showing up, playing, creating and putting something real into the world.
DEVIL CHILD is my tribute to them.
